Default Small Fenderwell vs. Big engine sitting

I'm switching from using the small stock MAF fenderwell (densecharger) to an 80mm that sits in the engine compartment... will I notive anything? Low end torque loss of top end maybe??
(Stock 94 cobra except exhaust and densecharger)

better throttle response maybe? it's not going to hurt performance if that's what you're wondering. the location of the maf isn't as important as the size.

Thats what I figured... isn't most heat from the ground anyway? I don't think fenderwell is all that great if you cant use the big MAF.. (76mm C&L or 80mm)

the only way i can see the fender mounted maf being better is it allows the use of a cai. i've heard some people say that they upgraded the maf on their cai setup and it just messed things up...but i dunno. i've got a 75mm maf with stock tubing and a big k&n and seems to work pretty well...or it did before i blew the motor.

actually the location of the MAF does make a concern.

its how it reads the air. to close throws it off to far throws it off but not a problem if the car is capable of tuning.

i do know for sure with a boosted application it makes a difference

I went to put on the 80mm MAF and realize I have no filter that will connect right to it. On the 94 there are four bolts from the MAF that are supposed to connect to the tubing that connects to the filter. So I have to find how to connect the filter directly to the MAF using the four bolts... Any suggestions???
