OBDII 5.0 Mustang?
Hey everyone. How hard, if possible would it be to convert a 95 5.0 to OBDII? Anyone ever done this before? Could you get the ecu and stuff out of a 96+ explorer 5.0? Any info would be helpful.

It would be a good "project", it's not as simple as a wiring/ECM swap, there are some details to take care off (DIS system, CKP, CMP....)...benefits in performance?.....not much. Other options using the EEC-IV are cheaper and more flexible (Tweecer, PMS,....). IMHO.

95 was the year the started swtiching to OBDII. 95's made later in the model year probably have OBDII. if you want to switch to an explorer ecm you're going to have to consider every value for each sensor is specified for an explorer which maybe completly different than your mustang. I dont know if there would be any benefit to swtiching, other than an easier way to pull DTCs. but you would have to keep in mind that everytime you wanted to pull a code you would be looking under a 96 explorer instead of your stang. in my opinion, i would just leave it alone and keep it OBDI.
