Yeah black will show a lot of defects and sanding scratches. Most of them won't show until you have your base coat down neither.

you mean the paint on the car its self? or what im doing? the paint on the car im going to say single stage. what im going to use is autozone rattlers
Tim if you do this it will look worse that it does now. First the paint is not a good enough quality for this kind of job. Second the spray pattern on a rattle can will make even coverage near impossible. Doing this is like putting used used oil in the car. Either invest in the tools, supplies and skill to do it right OR pay a pro to do it right OR don't do it at all. Trust me Tim, I have paint plenty of cars to know that this is not an easy nor cheap thing to do.
