My 'Stang won't idle...
I have a 1988 GT, and just had a nice 347 stroker built, and it runs incredible. My problem is that everytime I come to a stop, or let off the gas, the car stalls. The guy that owned my car before butchered the wiring, and had the computer tuned for a 331 stroker with 24lb injectors, no O2 sensors. The car also now has a MAP sensor, and a MAF sensor. I have both hooked up to the wiring, but I am pretty sure that once it is converted to MAF, the MAP is no longer used. The car was tuned before to have an open loop for O2 sensors, and I would now like to put them back in. The harness for the O2 sensors was cut off, and I am thinking about buying the new harness from Summit Racing. I just put a new IAC valve on the car. I also got one of the C&L 30# calibrated housing intake for the MAF sensor. Most of my mods are listed in the signature. If I start the car, it will idle. If I touch the gas, when it revs down, it stalls. I have ben looking for vacuum leaks and other small issues, but cannot find anything out of the ordinary. Timing seems to be ok as far as driving it and starting it goes. I thought the other day that I had fixed it, but as soon as I drove the car, I realized that I was wrong. Any Ideas? I'm getting stumped.

RE: My 'Stang won't idle...
Wow, you said you put a new IAC valve in there? Hmm.. I was gonna say clean it, but it is brand new. Another thing that may be necessary (wasn't sure if you said you had one) is maybe clocking your MAF, and resetting your TPS (throttle positioning sensor). I hope maybe this will help you get a start. I heard of idle problems being caused by a dirty IAC, which was infact my problem, now maybe clocking it might work.
