Default racing harness

Does anybody know where i can find like a 4-point racing harness that doesn't bolt up to a roll bar? I've heard they make harnesses that bolt up to the seat bracket but I can't find anything online. Anybody know?

This comes up so much it should be a sticky. A harness is designed to be part of a SYSTEM, take away the other parts and it does not work right. The problem with floor mount or rear seat mounts is that the angle that the harness runs at will cause you more injury than a regular seat belt. The angle will either break your collar bones or compress your spine, also in a roll over with no roll bar the harness will not let you sink into the seat and cause neak and head injury. Not to mention that a harness is technically not DOT approved so you can actually get a ticket for them. IMO not worth it, unless you do the whole system and only then if you actually have a car fast enoughto need a cage and all the extra safty gear that comes with it. BTW a cage in a street car also brings a lot more dangers with it. I don't know about you, but I don't want to bang my head off a steel bar without a helmet. If you are just doing it for the look, I say don't be a poser.

That foam will not save your head, without a helmet. I have owned several cars with cages and don't really ever want another one, unless it's a track only car. The "coolness" wears off fast, after awhile they are just a pain in the ***.

actually im not trying to "pose" i bought my car without front seatbelts (a dog ate them) and replacement seatbelts are expensive and hard to find. Also the panel in which the seat belt resides will not come loose. I was trying to go with some thing cheap and easy because I have no money and increasingly shortening free time. i was not aware of the safety hazards. How are they track legal if they are so dangerous?

Because they are usally in a car with a cage and a driver who wears a helmet. Go to the junkyard and find seat belts from a doner car.

I have to agree, look on ebay there are tons of seatbelts on there. I would sell you mine but they are from a convertable and have differant mounts. And 4 way safty harnesses are a pain trust me I daily drive my car and HOOKING AND UNHOOKING 4 POINT SUCKS.
