Mass Air Baby!..... Got a harness and a computer for a decent price, just started going through everything and soldering the rigged connections someone else did, and also testing each connector
WTF are you talking about. Definately not. Speed density is all pre-calculated equations. It's run by a "This much throttle gets this much fuel" basis, so you are going to run leaner than lean if you put any sort of boost on it, as it will still be putting the same amount of fuel for almost twice the volume of air (depending on boost of course). Where-as a MAF sensor measures the amount of air going into the engine and then decides how much fuel to put to that amount of air.
Well, it depends, S/D is actually a better system stock for stock, there's no big sensor in the air-flows way, I think I heard it's good up to 5hp stock for stock against a MAF car (5.0 Mustang that is), which is a fair bit, but you're very limited to what you can do to it while it still has the S/D system in tact for that reason, as your vehicle needs more air for the mods, it's going to need more fuel aswell, but the computer isn't going to put more fuel to it because nothing's telling it it needs more. You MIGHT be able to tune it by tricking the computer, never looked into this but I wouldn't see why not, but it would be an HUGE amount of work. For instance put 42lb injectors on it and then get an adjustable regulator and turn it down or up as your system needs, but I just don't know, and still wouldn't be as good as a MAF system. So then you run lean. So for modified cars, MAF is definately the way to go, stock, I'd put my S/D system back in right now.
