i had mine apart too. all i saw was a bearing. and a shaft going down into some arms. i dont think the bearings would go bad from oil, bearing love lubrication. a link off that corral site you gave me said theres carbon parts in them that go bad when introduced to oil. I dunno what in it would be carbon though.

i dont understand why not use a PCV catch can, and run a 3/8s vacume line from the intake, into the catch can, then from the catch can into a valve cover nipple, you could either weld a nipple on the cover or you could find a breather with a vacume hookup already on it. Wouldnt this serve the same purpose but working off engine vacume, this is what i have always done on my turbo 4cy.

i think i figured it out. 2 check valves in each valve cover. use a 4 way vacuum splice, and splice those two together, along with the pvc valve. then run that to the pump. then from the pump run a line to the catch can.

I talked to a guy at work who actually made one of these. he said he just uses the electric pumps off of LT1 camaros, and wires a switch into it so you can turn it on whenever.

to relieve excess crankcase pressure and reduce blow by..for us anyways.

its more common on drag cars that cant produce enough vacuum, due to high duration cams, so they can relieve crankcase pressure. A PCV system wouldnt work on a drag car because it would have enough vacuum to function. So you take a vacuum pump (smog pump) and make it suck out all the pressure.
