Just got my first stang

RE: Just got my first stang
Wow I have went through all those problems and more. I must say those are one of the easiest ones to too make you happy. I actually just improved/fix my hood. Like one of the posters said, see if it is bent. If not it may just need to be re-centered, nothing more then 3 sockets and a wrench, just keep trying, also you can grease it up. Lock actuators are probably dead and you can buy a pair for like $20 used. I replaced mine twice, now they lock strongly (bought mine off ebay) easy install. Also the hatch on mine, 90... had a bad striker bushing, had got used to many times and was therefore too small.

Sorry to hijack...
but did you need rivets to replace the actuators? Both of mine died, and I have 1 from ebay, I just could never put it in because first of all we couldn't take out the original. Second, there are no places to bolt it up, bolts to do it, and it wouldn't look right if it was, so how do u get the actuators in there?

my door handles had the same rivits i just got a bolt and nut that looked similar but stainless steal just put those in worked great with lock tight washers. just take a drill and drill right through the center of the rivit and it should be easy enought to take out

Aaronic as for your hatch loosen the stricker a little and move it up and tighten it but not all the way just enought that it will move with the hit of hammer and adjust it till the hatch sits and closes right mine did the same exact thing as yours

The engine not only has exhaust but it was completely redone when it was rebuilt last summer. Not sure exactly what was done to it though.
The rear hatch I fixed just by screwing with the key and slamming it hard... It seemed it was stuck shut meaning that it could not close down locked.
Will get a bigger pic tonight when I get home.
