Default Purchasing Help

Hello, I am strongly considering a 1994 Mustang GT 5spd to replace my Prelude (accident not my fault). The car has 154k on it and is pretty much bone stock excluding some exaust and Cragar draglites. What is known to be "bad" about the 94 GT and 5.0 in general. My dad said that the transmission fails easily. Is this true? What are the "main" problems with the 94 GT? Thank you for your time!

here is my 94 gt, runs like a champ... super easy to work on.. if its a 5 speed, transmission is fine.. mines auto... if its an auto put a shift kit in it.... buy it up!

nothing wrong with them, 5 speed trans will last longer than auto, but never heard of any inherent faults with em.
154k miles is approaching life of engine...... new stock engine run about $1,000 and you cna build up new 350hp engine for about $3,000
94-95 were a bit heavy with same hp as 5.0's, most people recommend upgrading the rearend gears first.
overall good cars, just expect the usuall stuff like water pumps and alternators to fail

tons of kits and upgrades available to piece together one hot car.

So is it better to replace the engine if/when it fails or just rebuild it? Stroker kit rebuild? The car is 4.5k good buy or no? I know parts are plentiful. But overall a solid car? And when upgrading the rearend gears should i go for 3.55, 3.73, or higher? Getting a little ahead of myself but i'm pretty much sold on the car if there are no major flaws in it.

Sounds a little too expensive, I bought my almost mint 95 gt bone stock for
$4,400. I got it at 103,xxx miles. You can probably find a better buy for that amount of money.
