Idle Problem, again!

Idle Problem, again!
When I bought the car it had a holley 650 double pumper carb on it, The guy told me to get a holley 600 because 650 was getting too much fuel and the floats were messed up anyways. Got a brand new 600 carb and put it on, ajusted everything and it idled/ran fine. About 2 weeks ago for some off reason the idle shot wayyy upp, (my gauges dont work) but it sounded like it was at 4000 and stuck there, smoke came from under neath the shifter and i smelt something. Got home and shut it off... BOOOOM! big ole backfire. So now i let it cool down and come back out and start it and play with the idle screw, Its doing nothing and i can almost take the screw out, relize the pedel was sticking and played around with the spring and put a new one on, started it up and ran and ideld perfect!
Now out of the blue, round2, ideling at 3500, when the car is dead cold and i start it up it will idle perfect, but once it gets warm it stays at like 3-4000, when i goto take off and slip the clutch it will semi-die and start bucking...wtf is wrong with this car!?
Man I hate carbs!

RE: Idle Problem, again!
Fix the intake leak. This leak will make you lean out in some cylinders; not good at all.
Then post if you still need help. If you have played with the carb since the problem; you get to reset the carb after replacing the intake gasket.....
P.S. The reason i say post back? You might have more issues than just the intake gasket too deal with here..... Good luck!
