Default The problems begin...missing header bolt...

Haha isn't that how it always goes...get a new toy and...

So I started to hear a light cliking sounds. Sounds more light a flutter. Barely audible at idle but as soon as I put I get on the gas it can clearly hear it. It sounds almost mechanical but not quite. It increases linearly with rpm's.

I'm looking under the hood and in the area that the sounds is coming from I see a header bolt missing. Is this the cause of the sound? What does a leaking header sounds like?

Do I have to change the gasket? Or just put another bolt in.

Should I get some fancy bolts? It's got shorty heaters on it.

Thanks.

It depends how bad the leak is. If its minimal itll kinda make a sound like pfft (like air moving), it also could make like a ticking sound or if its really bad it can be pretty loud. If youre having problems with your header bolts coming out then the locking style header bolts would be a worthwhile investment. They use an Eclip on top of the bolt head to lock it into place.

The are aftermarker headers and I'm not sure if they are stock bolts or not. They are definitly bolts and not studs. Are they supposed to be studs?

Are the locking bolts these? http://cgi.ebay.ca/STAGE-8-HEADERS-B...QQcmdZViewItem

Thanks.

^^yes. I'd just go get some Loctite and put it on them before you reinstall them.
