ford e303 cam worth it?
for a while ive been debating about gettin a new cam, question is, is it worth it? under the hood i got a saleen motor, bbk underdrive pulleys, k@n filter and a chip.. would a cam add much power? i hear the ford e303 is the best way to go, its an 87 stang, any1 have any input on whether it would be worth it for me to buy?

i honestly have no idea, my guess would be non stock, but thats just a guess b/c this car was pretty hooked up when i got it, i mean it was chipped, engine swapped, i mean there could of been alot more stuff done, so thats just a guess, if there stock, then its not worth it?

Look on the end of your heads....are there any brand names or do they have 3 or 4 bars on the end? The point myshifter was getting at is that you don't need a cam if you're still running stock heads. The stockers will say E7 as part of the part #. If you have the cash, get aluminum AFR's or TW's, if not, go w/ some GT40 or P heads....then get a cam. The E cam is tried and tested, but it's older tech. You could go w/ a TFS stage 1 or a comp cam w/ similar lift/duration and probably get a little more bang for your buck.

You don't mention it in your post, but if your's is an '87...it should be a speed density system (unless it was converted to mass air). If it's still speed density, cam selection is very limited.....the E-cam will cause driveability problems.

and the saleen motor is the same as a regular 5.0.
