Default sb ford cam question

i have a flat tappet block
allready installed the hydrolic roller conversion kit
allready ran a roller camshaft in it
didnt have any problems, but i noticed the lifters cam up a little too far and where hitting the lifter guides, on the roller conversion just a little bit
i called comp cams and they said i HAD TO RUN A RETRO FIT CAMSHAFT
even with the roller conversion kit
has anyone ever had this problem or ran a roller cam in a converted roller motor
my problem is, that is their is not alot of camshafts to choose from in the retro fit style
408 ,373gears 5 speed tremec, twisted wedge heads,victor jr intake,2900 pound car
anyone have a cam recomendation
thanks.

I would go straight to a solid roller custom ground and scrap that retro hydraulic nonsense

The retro fit camshaft set up needs a cam on a smaller base circle. It will have the same specs as the cam you have but it runs the lifters lower due to a smaller base circle cam. Ford Racing can also help you out.
