just a sugesstion for installation, run a piece of string down thru the t-stat housing and thru part of the t-stat then back up thru the housing to make a loop. this will let you hold the t-stat in place in its little recess on the housing, making the install MUCH easier. then when you're done tightening the bolts down you can just pull the string thru and out.
Nice idea....never thought of that...

I used a box end. I had to put the wrench under the a/c and then take baby steps to get it off. When I bought a new housing (old one was warped) it came with cap screws and I used them since it was a little bit easier. Still havent fixed my leak yet.

thanks...I fought with it for like half an hour, swearing, wrenches flying thru the air and bouncing off the walls. went thru like 2 gaskets before I thought of that.

thanks everyone for help...completed it last night. Haven't tested yet because the stupid battery was dead....Always something.

SIDE NOTE....Mustang dudes are so cool...there I am sweating my *** off in my driveway trying to get the bottom bolt out and a guy from down the street stops to see what I'm doing ( he says working on that damn thing again LOL). He then goes home to get me a different wrench. Later he stops by on his Harley to check on me, cool...after telling me about what he has done to his car. He goes home and brings out his baby a 1964 chromed out sweet *** ride. CHERRY it is....which is cool because now my 7 year son wants our car to be like his.....now my wife has to ok my dreams because the son wants it!!!!!

Anyway my point is he stopped to see if he could help....Mustang People are always HELPFUL

All Mustang owners should be cool to each other. Mustang is the GREATEST CAR on the planet and fellow stang bangers should help each other out. LONG LIVE THE MUSTANG!!!!

When you own a mustang you join a brotherhood. Every time I see a 5.0 I give them a thumbs up when I drive by them.
