Alternator ques.....

RE: Alternator ques.....
When my alternator went out on my '90 the stock replacements were either 80 or 85 amps. I went with the 85. But my car is stock with only a small amp (and I'm an old fart that doesn't tend to crank it up 'cept every now and again).
And for Randy;
Watts is power, amps is current, Volts is potential. Volts X Amps = Watts, so at 13 volts an implement pulling 2000 watts would take 153.846 amps and something pulling 650 watts at 13 volts would take 50 amps. Naturally the Wattage rating of audio systems is peak, and not what they are pulling all the time.

RE: Alternator ques.....
i say go with at "least" a 100 amp if anything. personally i'd go with the 130 as the others have mentioned. the underdrive will lower the charge anyways so why go for an alt that is just a little over stock. if you upgrade to the MSD stuff too down the road at least you won't have to get a another new alt or ditch the underdrive set up if you go with the stronger alts

I have pics of my install...I was going to do a walkthrough and never got around to it. Maybe I'll have time tonight...
BTW, you can get a stator connector (which you need to do it RIGHT) from PA performance for $8 shipped.....
