Default BALANCE FACTOR

i have a 1980 302 block with 1979 internals from what i could tell with the oil pan off ie: rods casting # the flexplate teeth have broken off from the starter hitting them so i need to replace it but heres the kicker i have no idea what the balance is 28oz or 50oz the flexplate is 164 tooth 14in. dia. 11 7/16 circle my ? is how can i tell what the balance is without tearing the motor apart is there any simple or trick way of figuring this out ? the stang has a 302 with a c-4 and it use to be a 6cyl with auto but i didnt switch it over so im clueless as to the imbalance with the motor being from a different year any ideas?,thanks

Default RE: BALANCE FACTOR

if they are 79 internals it would be the 28oz balance. they went to the 50oz in 81.
