Default HELP HORRiABLE NOISE

i got a 90 GT it just started making a knocking noise it sounds like its coming from the head.it has ****ty oil pressure i thank its a lifter but im not sure any one else have a opinion

If it's a knocking noise coming from the heads then it's mostly likely a lifter.

Could very well be a collapsed lifter. That would make a lot of noise. Heres my advice to you on an old motor, get 1 quart of kerosene and add it to the oil, run your car for about 10-15 minutes. Drain the oil. Make sure you have 6 quarts of 10W40 oil and a filter. Once the oil is drained, if possible on yours, run about .5 a qt on each head with the drain plugs out, to kind of flush it. Then change the filter, fill up the motor with the remaining 5qts. This is not a DEFINITE fix but it couldnt hurt. And if the motor has a lot of slop the 10w40 oil will take up some of it. If you live where its VERY hot, skip the 10w40 and use 20w50.

take off ur valve cover n look, prob just need a bolt tightened,

maybe u have no oil? ur oil may be bad, act now

i had the same issue and i did an oil change and added a quart of marvel mystery oil. and it stopped ticking and brought back oil psi. good luck man
