Sometimes when I'm at a light or something my car will go from its 1,000 rpm (normal) idle up to 2,600-2,800, hold there for a few seconds, then drop back down...and then go back up (cometimes). There aren't really any specific circumstances that it'll do this. Any ideas? This is really kind of embarassing at a light...my car going up to 3k and I have no control over it

You may have a TPS that might have an output voltage problem (spikes)....you would need to check/monitor its voltage after it gets warm or check if code 63 shows up in a DIY KOEO self-test.

I dont think 1000rpm is normal, sounds a little high. There is also a switch on the A/C I think that adjusts your idle when the pump comes on. It could be bad.
