Default e-brake

I dont think there is anyway to tighten it but it never hurts to ask. Can you tighten it or no? as of now mine is pullled up real high to get the car not to move.

Start by adjusting up the rear shoes and I believe there is an adjustment bolt in the hand brake assem. Been a while, could be confusing it w/ other fords. 7/16 or 10mm nut. Something like that.

Inside the console, pull up on the handle and look inside w/ a light.

make sure your back brake are not worn out. if they are good then make sure the are a ajusted up.if still to much travle in e brake then make the ajustment at e- brake.

stupid questoin but i know absolutely nothin about brakes....how do i tell if the pads are worn? im guessing i should take the wheels off?

you should have drum brakes. with a primary shoe the shoe facing the front of car . that one will be the frist to go . it should not be any thiner than the metal part of the shoe. hard to explain.
