Default e-brake

Hey guys, this may seem like a pointless problem but it has really started to bother me. when i pull up my e-brake to park my car its not very strong. It will hold the car on very small inclines but i always need to put it in gear to reasure myself that it isnt gonna roll away. is there anyway to tighten my e-brake or something.
Thanks
John

This may be a little late in the ball game, but I saw that nobody has replied to you so who knows, maybe I can help. The Ebrake is a common problem. Common enough that Ford recalled them. Take your Mustang to the dealership and have the ebrake fixed at no cost to you. Good luck!

It was done a couple of years back, but the recall is still in effect. Dealership repair/replace at no charge.

All that needs to be done guys is to adjust your rear caliper. You remove the caliper and pads, and using a 2 pronged tool from the parts store (you need it anyway to replace rear pads) screw the caliper piston out until there is a .030 clearance between pad and caliper (do not go less our you will drag the pad), then re-adjust your lever for desired pull. Done, this setting is the most screwed up thing I find on Mustang/T-birds/ Lincolns with this type of setup.
