you have a jack stand or jack under the control arm, right? i think you have too but im just askin. i think what i did last time was found a big deep socket to slide over the ball joint stud but still thinner than the base of the joint so i had a bigger spot to whack at.

Jack stand is under the control arm, otherwise I'd get the spring in the face. Not cool.

I've tried using a press to press it out as well... no luck. Time for the sledgehammer?

Got it out.... now getting the new one in using the press isn't so simple. It keeps wanting to go in crooked.

I'm wondering if i put it all back together and put the weight of the car on it........ it should pop into place?

nope, just keep trying to press it in. it will go eventually.

dont tell me to shut up ive done these before, and unless your swinging the thing like a friggen cave man your not gonna damage anything
