What is a TFI?

There is no steam either, but the temp gauge keeps rising and then the car will either cut off or won't start until the gauge says the temp has come back down.

pull codes on it at autozone. I bet its your thermostat switch or ACT sensor.

with a block that has been bored out it will run a little hotter because the cylinder walls are now closer together but your sayin it over heating to boiling point?
