I appreciate the responses....so another quick question then. Should I RTV the gasket on the heads as well? Around cooling holes?

rtv around the coolant passages, both sides of the gasket. you should have some tabs on the head that will hold the gasket in place too, but the rtv will certainly help it from shifting when you put the lower on.
