Default RE: 5.0 problems

i AM a mechanic and 4 grand is rediculous. average labor rate these days is $75 per hour, give or take a few $ depending on location and business. valve cover gaskets are easy as pie... and heres a good thing to do, get the metal crush gaskets for your valve covers, they are re-usable and wont leak. the cork and rubber gaskets are crap, although if you do it right and use some silicone they wont leak eitehr, but for the price... get the metal ones. intake gaskets are easy also, but remember where everything goes, and if you screw up with the new intake gaskets you could end up with an even bigger leak, still, not hard at all. and tune up.... well thats as easy as pie... nothing there but time. timing chain cover is a little difficult, you will need a pully puller, and a little more skill to fix.
