Glasstek Cowl Hoods?
Been looking for a 2/2.5" cowl hood for my 86 mustang. I've seen US Body Source, VFN, Cervinis, Glasstek.....
VFN wants 650 (too pricey).
Cervinis is the second most....US body seems shady and i have heard some good stuff about glasstek, their hood runs about 500 shipped.
Does anyone have a photo of a 2 inch cowl from glasstek on any year of a 5.0?
Are they any good- construction, fit and finish wise? I don't want a wavy piece of junk...
Thanks
EB

RE: Glasstek Cowl Hoods?
cervini's wants 459 plus shipping...
glasstek wants 380 plus shipping....same with usbody.com
I'm leaning towards the glasstec 2" cowl but also might want the cervani ram air hood with the nose. looks cool i think...
the guy at glasstec did scare me and said they use no metal reinforcements in their hood...i'm lost!

you forgot the biggest glass body manufacturer out there im assuming you want one that uses the stock latch and hinges 2-1/4", its $299. if you want to use stock hinges but hood pins its $239. its the same price threw 4-3/4".

RE: Glasstek Cowl Hoods?
ive done a full glass vega with a buddy with there kit and it was fair (hatch, doors, hood, fenders, nose and bumpers). sence there local go see what they have. most glass is going to need a little knockdown and cleaning up before you paint it, some companys do most of this for you and thats why they charge more. you can either spend it upfront when you buy the hood or spend it in time preping it for paint. a hardwood hood comes ready with very little nockdown required, usally just some red filler and your ready to go. they are also $450.
to be honest i like the steel cowl hoods the best for street use, they hold up to the weather much better
