RE: How much to romp a stock '04 Mach 1?
thank you, these guys were making it sound like a mach 1 was a freakin slug out there.....
And when i test drove it, it didnt feel that fast. And it had headers and a open H-pipe on it, they were in the middle of putting facotry exhaust back on it to re-sell it. And they asked me if i minded the noise of an open H-pipe.
It definatly didnt feel like a low 13 car at all. It felt about the same as the Evo VII did. I ran the Evo down the highway at about 115 about 1 hour before i went next door to drive the Mach. Those young car salesemen are the ****, they'll let you do anything you want to in those damn cars.

04 mach1 bone stock runs 13.47 at 104mph (tested against a 04 gto by hi performance pontiac). if the car has sticky tires the speed, and power both say 13.02 . your vert is roughly the same weight, so to make it fair you would need gears (mach 1 has 3.55's standard) and make more than 310 hp at the crank. you wont do it without heads, but a good head, intake, cam, throttle body, cold air, headers, h-pipe, catback, and sticky tires would make is very close, and depending on the driver you would have an advantage. if you ran good with all thse mods you would get him by almost 2 car's if he has slicks as well it would be nose to nose.
