Default Well I finally made the purchase!!!

Alright guys, I'm going to call Edge today, but I want to make the right decision. I've got enough money now for the street edge 3000 rpm lock up converter!!! But I've heard mixed feelings about a daily driven car with a 3000 rpm lockup converter, things such as burning up your tranny. I was told by another person that for a daily driven car, a 2500 rpm lock-up converter would suit me best, and I've heard from many others, as long as I get the lock-up 3000 rpm converter that I'll be fine and even more happy with it. Right now I'm kinda confused but anxious to go ahead and make the purchase. I need your opinions guys!!!

Edit: Damnit I pushed the ok button too soon, if you vote for the 2500 just say so in your post and if you can, post a reason.

OOPS!!! to late!!! lol, I don't feel bad about the 3000 rpm after I talked to Andre, the guy is smart as hell, and he set me up with the perfect convertor, got all of my info and got my billing info and told me that he's going to help me out with some more stuff after it's all said and done. He even suggested (to get my times down) to get something to hold down the gas pedal and jump out of the car half way down the track, or to cut off my legs to save a tenth or two!!! It's something to look into I suppose ( just kidding). But anyways, he made me feel that it was $520.00 well spent and I think that it is. Well feel free to comment.

Basically, everyone who I have talked to who got anything under a 2800-3000 has been pretty much unhappy with it. I think you made the right decision.

I'm pretty sure that I did, here's the differences that he explained to me and the advantages. He said that with the new stall in, it's going to feel a lot tighter, and from normal acceleration it's going to feel like it did with the stock converter. He also mentioned that when I put it in gear, the car will move it just wont sit there. But he said that when I go WOT I'm going to have traction issues (one problem that I have absolutely no problem fixing!). With just about 10-15 minutes talking to him, he sold me, and he wasn't pressuring me into it or nothing. He did say that everyone that goes with the mild street edge always wants to upgrade after a few weeks to the street edge (3000+ rpms). But he said that this converter will grow with my mods, if I add a cam and some heads, my brake stall would go up quite a bit, so I'm going to be very pleased with this converter.

excellent choice man. alot of people complain about the higher stall speeds but they are great!!! i had a '64 chevelle that i had to switch converters in it twice. the first one i put in was a 2500 stall and i HATED IT. so i had to shell out the extra cash and went with a 3500 stall, keep in mind this was my 400hp daily driver. granted it was a chevy but its the same principle. you made the right choice.
