I'm looking to get an 88 LX 5.0. I know very little aboutMustangs, and I would like some input about the goods and the bads for that year. Here's what I know now. It has 179k kilometers, 5.0L V8, manual, very small surface body rust, all for $2800 CDN. It's from a dealership and they are willing to take my 96 Grand Am (no jokes please) as a swap. No cash involved. Am I getting ripped off? Is that a bad year, bad engine, bad tranny? Thanks for the help.</P>

I traded a 95 explorer with high miles and a bad transfer case for my 89 lx with the same milage 180k and there was no cash involved,i think i got a good deal cause i like the mustang 10 times better...I say go for it,if you don't like the stang you can sell it easy i know around here they sell easy..

Yeah...(I think) mustangs/performance cars in general are always a good buy because you will be able to sell it latersince it's not too hard to find someone wanting to go fast.
