Auburn Posi unit?

RE: Auburn Posi unit?
I had a detroit locker. Id imagine that the auburn unit right along with the detroit locker unit are good for the strip, but my locker literally blew up after about 9 months of use. They dont like corners very much, some will make a ratcheting sound, that is normal. Id say if youre mainly gonna run on the street just rebuild your T-lok, its the most steet friendly.

I got a Detroit locker to. THat kinda scares me the fact yours tore up. Mine makes a ratcheting sound also, especially aroudn corners. But i dont mind. Can be a little jerky at times to. But me no mind.
I race mine frequently...more like every thursday night. But it definatly grips like a *****. I got it in a rear end with 3.73's, i got the whole 8.8 for $150...the girl had just broke up with her boyfriend and was selling all his stuff. So i jumped on that. She said he had just had it put in about a month before they broke up and the rear hadnt been back into his car. poor bastard.

I had one on my 89 firebird to try to eliminate wheel hop on that piece of crap. It was awesome to have, but it still hopped (I hated that). It made some noise. But it was a great product.

and to clear up a few things, auburns are a limited slip differential just like the stock one in our cars, but they use cone shaped clutches instead of disk clutches.
I had mine for around a year with 400+ HP and it is still fine, no noises or anything, I think they are well worth the money.
this to LASH, if your auburn makes noise then the bearing preload is wrong.
if they are set up correctly they should be silent.
