Default RE: broken head gasket?

You're going to have to provide ALOT more detail.
Define driving bad. Loss of power. Rough idle. The more detail the better.

Have you pulled the diagnostic codes from the computer? This is your first task if you have not already done so. Anyone posting a response is only guessing, but your computer can give you some very good clues as to where to start.
Autozone will pull your codes for free!!!

A blown HG usually does not create a fuel smell.

Have you made any modifications or done any other work on the car recently?

When does the smoke show up?
Idle?
Only when hitting the throttle?

What do you mean by the temp gauge not indicating anything? No change in temp? OR, no reading at all?

When you pop the hood do you see any obvious signs of fluid leaks?
Are you dripping anything on the ground?
