Default steering wheel change

Im in the search for a fox body mustang, but would like a 90-92 cause of the air bag. I was just wondering if it is possible to take the entire steering column including the steering wheel from a 90-93 and put it into a 87-89. Thanks for the help.

You will need more than just the column for it to work. I would imagine that you would need impact sensors for the front and some sort of SRS module (safety restraint system).

If you trying to do it make it look different that's cool. If your doing to get air bags you might as well just buy a 90-93 5.0 so you won't have to go through all the sensor's wiring labor etc... It will become expensive and I'm pretty sure it's not worth the money. It's cheaper to get a removable steering wheel.

+1 Its alot of work and Im sure its more work than I/we even know about. Basically, if your doing it for the safety its just not worth it. For looks, than yes because its a simply swap.
