wat u talkin about he put down 260rwhp.. stock intake is good for little over 300 hp
that means its no good after 300 hp not that its the best intake for a car making less than 300 hp.

are you telling me a stock intake is gonna be better with afr 165s than a bbk ssi intake? I highly doubt that. yea it may not be gettin used to its fullest, but not as good as stock eh...

and i am sure when all is settled and done with the cam and tune and any other little quirks he is sure to have he will be putting up more than the 260 hes at now.

anyways like you said its just my opinion though...

my buddy has a 98 SS, ran consistant 12.00 with some basic bolt ons and then blew his weak *** 10bolt rear out of it. [:@]

I mean, hell the LS1 is a very inovative engine, the 302 is based off of an engine that came out in the early 60's so to even be comparable and to make it fair the Mustang should at least have a set of heads and intake. I mean the LS1 i aluminum everything, block, heads, pistons, etc. Not to mention the heads flow excellent stock so for it to even be a fair race...you know......its like a 305 Camaro racing a 4.6 Mustang with some minor bolt ones, like exhaust. Its not really a fair race because of the gap in technology.

i raced a full exhaust...l/t's and some slp package and i believ he 4.10's....it was a dead even race...it was one of those races if either slipped up the other would have won.

Was it running slicks? 12.00 with basic bolt ons? I realize a very good running stock SS LS-1 is good for high 12's on slicks(maybe a 12.7-12.8). Are you sure ported heads and an intake change didn't take place? It would take at least 400rwhp to run a 12 flat in a 3500lb car, with fantastic weather and traction, not to mention driver skill. Just curious 'cause many people on this forum say some
incredulous things.

yep, Mickey Thompson E/T's. No ported heads. His cam is about a .540 lift, unknown duration but it sure sounds like its got tons. He's done some work with a hand tuner also.

I have run 11.8 @113.4 with a cam, 4000 stall, lid, UD pulley, drag radials and controll arms. The heads and bottom end are completely stock and so is the rear end. My car put down 393 rwhp when it was a 6 speed, now that it is an auto I am sure that number is alot lower. It is also a full weight car.

Nice race, r.barn. Always nice to hear that a fellow Stanger gave an LS1 a run for its money

My buddy has an '02 Z28 and from a stop, we're dead even 'til about 50 mph, then he starts to pull a little. From a roll, pretty much the same results. There's about a one second difference between us in the 1/4, but I have a lot of work yet to do on my car
