Finding cubic inch for an engine formula is : bore x bore x stroke x .7854 x number of cylinders

347 is a 4.030 over bore and a 3.400 crank... a 331 is a 3.250 crank and a 30 0ver bore

older block 302 are better to bore then newer..i have a 70 yr in my stang and 60 over runs cool...10.5 comp...had a 87 302 60 over lasted a yr.....

You don't have to notch the block on a 331 its close and is recommended but is not needed
