Default tranny question

how long do you guys think a 4cly t-5 borg warner tranny will last in an HO?????? i only have to change the input shaft or if anybody knows any other trannies that will work for a quick fix

not long,

just get a world class T-5, they're only like $700 for rebuilt w/ core exchange at astroperformance.com

I believe it needs a new input shaft and pilot bearing, but it also has a lower tq rating and a 2.95 1st gear (which I like in my Z spec, BTW). If you baby it you'll be okay for a while, but don't expect much in the way of WOT or hard shifting from it.

If you're staying stock, then the WC t5 should be okay, but if you plan on modding at all or going w/ gears, I would save up and buy something better. You can get a G-Force T5 at astro performance or other places, or you can go w/ Tremec.
