This is gonna sound weird, but I have seen the 543 / 542 codes get dispalyed for a bad negative terminal connection to your battery. If it's weak or arcs at all it can throw those codes. It actually happened to me. The ground was a little loose. So I got a new terminal, waited 0 minutes, then reconnected the battery. That took care of the 543 code. Ironically, i also had the 175, 177, 176 codes. Replaced my O2 sensors and have been code free ever since.
Not saying that this is your problem, but I know that I am not the only person who had false 543 codes due to crappy battery connections.

RE: guys i got codes, need help asap!
aight looked on the my5oh site and pulled codes mean as follows....
542 - Fuel pump circuit failure
543 - When the PCM commanded the fuel pump on, voltage was not detected on FPM
175 - Fuel system at adaptive limit, o2 Sensor unable to switch(left side, (Bank No. 2))
177 - o2 Sensor circuit indicates system rich (left side)
no wonder my car smells of so much gas! and my car has no power due to the pump running at a certain limit!!
how can i fix these problems!!!!

if the o2 sensor indicates fault and have to be changed how many o2 sensors are there?

Again,m not guaranteeing that they are the problem... but it's very similar to what I experienced.

aight guys just got out of ford, i just added the MIL ELIMINATORS for my o2 sensors, and it cleared my 175 and 177, i advanced my timing to 15 degrees and i feel the difference. but im still stuck with the feul pump codes?!?!?! they told me appreantly the car shouldnt be running if those codes are on..... im lost.

MIL eliminators on a 1994 GT? I don't think they work on anything pre 1996. I was under the impression that MIL eliminators were designed for post-cat O2 sensors which that year didn't have. Could be wrong though. But I could have sworn that thay are useless on anything older than a 1996.
As far as the fuel codes... did you check your battery ground and then disconnect the battery for 10 minutes or so? it may not solve it, but it's always easier to check the simple and free stuff first.
And I STILL don't think the MIL eliminators will end up keeping the lights off. But whatever works

no i havnt done the battery thing, but they do plug in and work you have to just shave of the guide pins... my car came up with no codes after the diagnotics test. but after i left the dealer i came home and my check engine light came back on. so when i go back tomarrow ill give it another fast test to see whats going on.... AGAIN, cause my car is still running like trash.... my next thing might be my stupid spark plugs? wow it has no power....

Codes 175 & 177....replace both O2's, the driver's side is kaput. FYI, don't use the MIL eliminators.....the EEC-IV will not know how to set A/F if you "fool it" with them = bad performance, fuel mileage, etc. My 2¢.
