I just installed a c-4 and 3500 stall in my car.The trans. only wants to take like 4 quarts of fluid.But it will go in gear and shift fine.I am being told that it ought to hold atleast 9-10 quarts.does anyone have any ideas why this is happening.Do you think fluid just haven't works its self everywhere yet.Thanks.

 

sounds like something was pre-loaded, but yes, 4 quarts is not enough

 

Did you put a quart of fluid in the converter before installing it? Once the car is running, C4's will usually take 7-9 quarts of fluid with a stock pan...

 

the converter itself will usually hold 3 quarts

 

If you didnt put any fluid in the converter I hope the car want on for long you run teh risk of wiping the pump out but usallay after u fill the converter up and dump 6qts in the pan and run it threw the gears it will hold about 7-8 qts
