Default wet fenderwell intake

i was doing some hurricane driving in that storm we just had on the east coast and i noticed on my new fenderwell cold air intake the hose clamp on the intake is rusted by the filter which means waters splashin up over there. is this normal? im not looking to hydro lock my 300,000 mile 5.0 anytime soon any help's appreciated

it happened to my car also, i dont think it will hurt anything, if it runs now it should boil off the water that went in.
