94-95 cobra = 240hp

96-98 cobra = 305hp

yes the 5.0 is easier to upgrade but all the upgrades aren't necessary on the 4v cobra. with a properly built

n/a 5.0(h/c/i) your'e barely gonna make more than the cobra comes stock. go with the 96-98 cobra.

WTF are you on??? 96-98 cobras make 305 at the crank. My 1994 Cobra with tb, exhaust, cai and fpr makes 270+ at the wheels.... and your telling me we need a h/c/i to compete with a 96-98 cobra?? youve got some re-thinking to do buddy

remember... my cobra has a BONE STOCK motor with 153k miles. and i make more power at the wheels than a 96-98 cobra

I'd get the cobra. The 4.6 Modular motor is a better motor than the 5.0. Plus, the Cobra is a 4 valve motor so it has a lot of potential. 4 valve heads flow a ton. You could put a blower on a stock motor and easily be in the 500 hp territory.

Here ya' go dude. This is a quote from the Vortech website: "This system will produce 484 horsepower on an unmodified engine." If you put headers on the car, you could easily hit 500hp. http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...ang_cobra.html

whats that quote, HP sells cars, but...

anyway, even tho the '95 cobra was RATED 65hp less it still ran within a few tenths of the '96 Cobra in the 1/4...

yea.... so the 96-98 has 65 more HP... it only has 15 more tq.

you can get 15 more tq from a set of headers.

or even bumping your timing alittle bit

I have a question: Which motors are more reliable/durable in general--5.0s or 4.6s?

Either way, I think I'd pick the Cobra over the GT.
