When I worked at a transmission shop a while ago I put a van on the lift and hit the windshield on the dropped down part of the roof and broke it. The shop was really old and had low ceilings and the other mechanice there positioned the van when I drove it in and said it was ok. It was only a few inches too far forward.
My boss paid for a new windshield.

I don't get it. They made a mistake and to fix the problem, they are replacing the old windshield with a brand new one for free? And you're complaining about it?

this can haapen just as easy at a ford dealership... people make mistakes, as long as its takken care of, no harm no foul

I trust regular mechanics more than ford mechanics! I had the ABSOLUTE WORST experience with a Ford Dealership and I will never take a car there EVER again. I baught weather stripping from them (paid 3X's what I could of got it for) and had them install it for me. It was actually a gift from my parents for my b day so I let them do it. Anyway, they took TWO WEEKS to do my weatherstripping around the doors! And than when I got it back, my armrest pad was handing off (literally), and panel had a cut in it and the paint was chipped around where they removed the old stripping. I told them about it and there exact words were "well its an old car, I dont know what kind of condition it came in here as"..."its not our fault.. you can superglue the armrest back down"... I said f*ck you and walked out.
