put a piece of clay in cylinder and turn over. with old head gasket on block and block bolted down two bolts/ you can see where the piston laps and almost touches the face, measure, the depth, after peeling off clay, .080 in ur fine

OR the engine will lock while turning, then u know

ORIGINAL: aode06

yeah thats what i thought, I figured I can at least get the 1.7 rollers and gain 30 hp, my machinist told me my stock cam is holding me back with my setup and I need to make it BREATHE, so Im assuming with my stock cam and some 1.7 rollers my duration and specs will be cobra?? correct?
If you are really trying to get it to breathe, do something w/ the heads. Port them, swap them out, something. The rest of your combo won't matter much if you're running bone stock E7's. You can find an E cam or TFS stage 1 for cheap on ebay..I would do that instead of going w/ 1.7's. I decided I wanted 1.72's on my E cam (.535) lift, but there is a lot of valvetrain noise....I don't think the stock length pushrods are long enough, so I bought some 1.6's that are going on Saturday.....
