Default info on exhaust cutouts?

ok i know this is probly asked a lot, but do cutouts really help?? and where exactly should they be placed?? also does anyone think its possible to make your own electric cutouts, i know you can buy some, but if you wanna save $$ is it possible to make your own?? does anyone have pics or vid clips i haven't seen any on mustang.. thanks anything helps cayse i dont know much about this..

I wouldn't do it, all that'll do is make your exhaust sound terrible, I would suggest just getting a new cat-back. Exhaust is a tuned thing, there are high and low pressures, the highs attract the lows, and vica-versa, I wouldn't toy with that. Doing something like that can hurt the car more than help it. So personally i wouldn't suggest it

if you want cut outs, put them right after the mufflers.. dumps are popular, right after the muffler the pipe turns towards the pavement and resonates off the road, very aggressive and loud sound... but some guys like it.

no it wont hurt the car as long as the o2 sensors are still installed and allowed to adjust air/fuel ratio, besides these are generally only used when racing or low speeds.
