Default another 351 assymbly issue

I'll post this up in the 351 section too, figured see if you guys had any thoughts

Lower intake manifold does not sit all the way down on to the block
is this right?
The bolt holes and intake runners all line up, just have this gap between intake and block

my 302 intake would sit down flush on the block

need one of those cork front and back gaskets??????????

Build up is coming along nicely

I just got another chill down my spine from seeing that pic.
That engine looks very nice.

The gap is normal.

Most people just toss the cork gasket in the garbage and lay a thick bead of silicone down on the front and rear rails.

I have had more problems with the cork, so I haven't used them in years.

I would take a look down your ports and see how they line up, if they are good...a thick bead of RTV, if not, you may have to have your intake milled to get it to sit down more. I think that there should be a little gap though.

damn man... i'm so jealous of you.lol... anyways how is the build going on that 357?.. lol.. thought of a vanity plate for your car man.. how about magnum?.. lol.. like 357 magnum?lol sorry.. i'm going on 2 hours of sleep and have been up since 7am. anyways.. i know a lil gap is saposed to be there.. but.. that seems just a lil big.. maybe bring the lower intake in to the machine shop and have them take like 10 thousands of an inch off the gasket surface on each side.. should still line up ok i think.. but it will make that gap a lil more manageable. just my opinion.
