Default RE: steering issue

if it died on you then either pump/pulley was locking up or that plug in your dash is coming apart<this controls anything electrical.

tilt steering on mustangs are common place of the bolts coming loose..tighten all the bolts...check for play

Default RE: steering issue

It does feel like there is a little play but would that explain why it doesn't steer as easy? and there is noticeably more play than usual but i checked the steering shaft and it appears to have a solid connection to the steering wheel so i think it might be the rack or something after the shaft.
