If it was my car, I would go with a built 331 bottom end with the hellion turbo on top of it. You could drive it every day and blow the tires whenever you felt necessary.

+1 on the turbo. I also would go with a built 331. Something like a Dart or R based block for rigidity. Stick a moderately high-rev camshaft in there and go have some serious fun.

But for that price you could have a seriously nice 351 (cough cough 408), not have to buy an insanely expensive race block, and have more low end torque. That's what I'd (read: hopefully this winter) doing.

ORIGINAL: Twisted

ORIGINAL: r.barn

I'm expecting somewhere right around 450hp at the crank on my set-up
with insane off the line torque.

pretty much decided on a 150 shot of nitrous later to get close to that 500rwhp area.
R.barn, your car is a damn sleeper! Just looking at it, I might make the mistake of tangling with it at a stoplight. Boy would that be a bad idea! Nice friggin car!
His car looks a tad diff now. 2.5" cowl, and im sure you could hear the engine roar...at idle. If i can hear the engine over the exhaust, im not running against it... nice car

A turbo would be your best bet and prob almost the cheapest! You wouldnt even need a 331 with a turbo. A street kit from hellion will almost crack a block! add a manifold and a cam and your set to go! 420-450rwhp! And when your cruising, it has NO effect on gas mileage until you get into boost. Turbo is the most efficient way to go, expensive. But SOOO worth it if you have the cash.
