off the line my car has no tq and i think it from the tight Converter (2500 stall) so i decied to go with the TCI AOD Super StreetFighter Converter ( dyno says that i make 421 at 3800 rpm) but there is two types , lock up and non lock up converter , whats the diff in the two??

RE: Converter
A lock-up style converter will lock the converter in 3rd gear and OD so that there is no slipping going on. Yes you will still be able to go into OD. Lock-ups are more practical for a street car. With a non-lockup converter the converter will slip in every gear 1,2,3 and OD (assuming that you have an AOD). So if it's driven on the streets or driven to the track I would go with a lock up, if it's strictly a track car that doesn't see the streets go with a non locking converter. Mine's a 3000 rpm lock up converter and I'm glad that I went with the lock-up style.
