wiring a a/f ratio gauge

Default wiring a a/f ratio gauge

its got a black, red ,and purple wire. i'm assuming black and red are ground and hot. but whats the purple wire???

It hooks to one of the wires on the o2 sensor. Which one off the top of my head not sure.

Red=Heater +
Black= Heater -
Purple=Signal to gauge

PRO50 is correct. What brand is it, mine had a power, alt power, o2, and ground. I replaced my O2 sensor when I installed mine, and the book gave no indication as to what color the sending signal wire was, so stripped all three and connected them one at time, when I found the right one, I just replaced the sensor and connected it to the correct wire.

sell the gauge to a ricer and get yourself a wideband....

a narrow band gauge like you bought is only good for one thing... a light show in the car

Not true, if there is a malfunction in your fuel system you will be able to tell cuz the gauge will stay rich or lean and not fluctuate.
