What Are wire seperators used for? Just looks? Or do the wires have to be seperated for any reason?

Looks and it makes it easier to trace the wires, they don't HAVE to be separated, just makes life easier and much nicer.

also keep your wires from having potential crossover. Meaning when they get hot (as in running around in town all day in teh middle of summer) they are less likely to ground out because of a weak spot in jacket.

i assume your refferring to wire looms for spark plug wires, and yes they are to keep crossover from ocuring and wires off of headers, and things clean and neat...

These things are a carry-over from the 50's when solid conductor wires would/could short against each other.
i do use them on my racer car as they make easier to kepp them off the headers and also to keep the striaght.......
