They're great! I love mine! Sure manuals are fun, but a stalled automatic is kinda neat and fun to drive around. All that you really need to wake an AOD up is a big torque converter. You don't really NEED a shift kit but it helps. Just throw in a 3000 rpm torque converter and tighten up your TV cable so that you shift at about 5000-5200 rpms and you're good to go.

I think auto's are less expensive and way more drivetrain friendly than sticks with slicks. If it really came down to it, you gotta perfectly good donor car to dump that 5.0L in with already has a stick. It would be a project sure, but what else are you doing for the winter??
