MAF Brand Question

RE: MAF Brand Question
I bought a C&L meter because the dyno shop I plan on going to would rather tune with that than the Pro-M one I had. When I got it in the mail I was very impressed with the quality. It's made very nicely, and would definitly recommend it to anyone. I don't know why anyone would think that its low quality, besides the fact that you have to transfer your stock electronics to the new meter, its a really nice setup in my opinion.

I have had a hard time finding info on 'how' the MAF signal is innacurate, but it is commonly brought up.
Your comments are the first time I have heard of a tune shop that would only work with C&L, and not ProM. Normally, the roles are reversed.
I do not feel that C&L is as bad as some make it out to be, but there is potential for 'mismatch' no matter what calibrated MAF you decide to use.

RE: MAF Brand Question
Well that's what I'm saying, you should check with whoever is going to tune your car, which they prefer. Think of it like getting 10.5:1 pistons and then deciding that you want to use a turbo or supercharger. Granted it's alot easier to change a MAF meter than it is pistons, but you get my point.

RE: MAF Brand Question
I just bought a C&L off ebay for 50$, its in really good shape too. I'm not gonna put it on right away cuz i'm stickin with my 19 #ers for now with my HCI and its cal. for 24#ers. I could buy a sample tube for 19#ers, but i'm not gonna worry about it for now. I've heard some shops would rather tune with the stock MAF than a C&L, but i'll ask before i go up, maybe i can find some really cheap 24#ers before i put on the upper intake, which i hope is by atleast tuesday.
