i'm thinkin if i had 8 grand to spend i would start with a 331 stroker kit, some afr heads, custom cam, rpm intake and a novi 2000. that with the supporting mods (tb, egr, exhaust, injectors, maf, ect.) and suspension and i would be totally happy. that with some pizza and beer, and me and my buddies would have a real good time with the install.

umm, Isn't that kind of what I said?
hahaha to tell you the truth ya but i didnt even read all the post.

If it was me I would just throw a supercharger on it. Save the rest and save more, then when the stock motor goes belly up buy or build or own custom blower motor. At least you will already have the blower for it.

Thanks alot for the ideas. Does anyone know what I should do to my chassis/suspension. I don't have the proper tools to fab alot of stuff up so the best mods with least fab work would be great. Hell bolt on and go would be even better. I am still open to all ideas for anything. I am even open to ideas that have nothing to do with engine or chassis/suspension but would help overall performance. Thanks again
Full length subframes, strut tower brace (laurel mtn or Maximum Motorsports)
springs
shocks/struts
U/L rear control arms --don't go cheap if you'll be at the track that much.
Panhard bar -- MM has a great one.

I don't know enough about drag suspension setups to give advice, so I'll leave that to someone else. Don't go cheap on your control arms b/c you'll end up spending the cash later when you break something.

Also, lose as much weight as you can. Aluminum heads will drop 55#'s off the motor. Tubular K-member and A-arms will drop another 30#'s. Lose the smog, A/C, and power steering if it will be mostly a track car, otherwise that's up to you. There's more, just do a search to find some past threads.

Yes, MM's panhard is supposed to be the best. But watch out, install is not easy! I have been trying to just UNDERSTAND the directions for the past three days!

I would never do that... unless you KNOW for a fact that the car was well maintained, etc. Yes, it would be alot cheaper to just buy an already worked on car but you could very easily be just picking up someone elses problems! I have learned the hard way. For now on, I will always buy my cars as close to stock as possible, no matter the price.
